HEIDLEBERG TOWNSHIP, Pa. – In early December, 18-year-old Christopher Scheller was heading eastbound on Old Hanover Rd when he lost control of his vehicle and slid off the road into a tree. Although his injuries were non-life threatening, a responding officer summoned medical personnel to the scene and Scheller was transported to York Hospital.

Upon closer examination of the crash scene, the officer found evidence suggesting Scheller may have been intoxicated. The officer then headed to York Hospital to have a chat with the suspect.

Meanwhile, the medical staff x-rayed Scheller and discovered an “abnormality” in his rectum. The “abnormality” turned out to be a bag of synthetic marijuana, a socket wrench used for smoking, 4 bracelets, 4 necklace and 11 ladies rings.

It was determined that the items were stolen from a residence in Heidelberg Twp. The working theory is that Scheller concealed the stolen items in his body as the officer approached the crash site. I, for one, commend him on his speed and dexterity.

Scheller faces charges of theft, receiving stolen property and DUI among others.  He is currently in custody at the York County Prison on unrelated charges.

The officer found evidence that the driver may be intoxicated and responded to York Hospital to meet with Scheller. When medical staff performed a medical x-ray of Scheller, they found “an abnormality” in his rectum. Scheller at first did not want the object removed- but eventually consented. Found in his rectum were a bag of synthetic marijuana, a socket for a wrench used for smoking, four bracelets, four necklaces, and 11 ladies rings. After the officer investigated this strange occurrence, it was determined that the items were stolen from a residence in Heidelberg Twp. by the suspect. Scheller is currently in custody at the York County Prison on unrelated charges. The following charges have been filed and docketed at MDJ Tom Reilly’s office: Theft, receiving Stolen Property, DUI, and several other charges.

Scheller apparently concealed the stolen items in his body as the officer was approaching the scene of the crash.
