New Low: Less Than Half Say Obama Is 'Strong, Decisive' Leader

A new survey released by Gallup today shows that opinions about Obama’s leadership has dropped to a new low. For the first time during Obama’s presidency, less than half (47%) of adults say the President is a “strong and decisive leader,” a six point dive since the question was measured in September.

The fallout of Obama’s questionable promise to the public that they could keep their healthcare plans under the new healthcare system is becoming apparent. Opinions of Obama’s trustworthiness has also dropped, fifty percent of respondents say Obama is “trustworthy and honest,” a decline from September levels of 55% and pre-2012 election levels of 60%.

Nevertheless, the public still see Obama as someone who “understands the problems Americans face in their daily lives.” Fifty-eight percent say so, and that figure has been fairly steady over the last year and half.
