SAN ANTONIO – According to an FBI complaint, a 34-year-old San Antonio mother has been charged with assault within maritime and territorial jurisdiction resulting in serious bodily injury, after allegedly ripping of her 6-year-old son’s genitals during a rage and then trying to repair the damage with glue.
The boy’s father, who is the Army, reportedly returned to the family’s home at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston on Sept. 27, found his injured son and brought him to a military hospital, according to prosecutors. The boy was treated and is recovering from a lacerated scrotum and brusing.
The mother was arrested Wednesday and remains in custody, a bail hearing set for Monday in federal court.
Authorities are still investigating what triggered the mom’s actions.
