In the days before and since the government shutdown, the media have suspended their usual practice of making politicians pay a price for using rhetoric laced with violent images. The reason for this suspension, obviously, is because it is Democrats using it to gin up hatred against the GOP.
Today, Thursday, there was a shooting near the White House and Capitol Hill. Reports are that the suspect, a woman, was killed and a police officer was injured.
Here is a list of the violent rhetoric from Democrats in just the past week or so. This troubling list includes politicians and members of the media:
1. PRESIDENT OBAMA – GOP ‘putting a gun to the American people’s head’
Just a few hours before Thursday’s Capitol Hill shooting, President Barack Obama accused Republicans of putting a gun to the heads of people to win the shutdown debate:
“You don’t negotiate by putting a gun to the other person’s head, or worse yet by putting a gun to the American people’s head by threatening a shutdown.”

2. REP. GEORGE MILLER – GOP engaging in ‘Jihad’
“So when you were on a jihad against Americans’ access to health care, shutting down the parks wasn’t a problem,” Mr. Miller said on the House floor on Wednesday.
