The website Funny or Die which makes short spoof videos often starring big names has a new pro-Obamacare spot out today starring Jennifer Hudson.
The clip is the result of a meeting the White House held in July seeking help from the entertainment industry to sell health reform. Mike Farah, the head producer at Funny or Die, was there along with Hudson. Other stars on hand included Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live and Alicia Keys.
At present the clip is getting about 2:1 positive response, which strikes me as generous. But perhaps the
idea isn’t to make people laugh so much as to demonstrate that
celebrities are on board. The Obama administration seems to believe most
people will float along in whichever direction the cultural tide is
flowing, even if it has been made-to-order by the White House.
