TOWN OF HASLEY, Wisconsin (AP) – 29-year-old Xou Chang of Wausau, was accidentally shot to death last weekend when a fellow squirrel hunter mistook him for a squirrel.
According to the Marathon County sheriff’s department, Chang was shot by his friend, a 32-year-old man, also from Wausau. Chang reportedly had two dead squirrels next to him on a stump. His friend allegedly saw movement and then fired, striking Chang in the head from about 50 yards away, officials say.
The shooting occurred on private land.
