Pastor Recruiting New Members with New Slogan: 'Church Sucks'

EUGENE, Oregon (CNN) -A pastor is putting his faith in a controversial slogan in hopes of recruiting new members…..Church Sucks. 

Tony Crank, pastor of the “One Love” church has mailed out hundreds of flyers to homes in the area. The idea behind the slogan is to acknowledge those who have had bad church experiences in the past, and then provide them a place in which to reconnect to their faith

“Some churches have become the kind of place where you point the finger and you condemn and you rebuke and are really quick to do it. And so I think that is definitely lending itself to people not wanting anything to do with church and thinking church sucks.”

Crank believes there is too much focus on sin in church and not enough on connection with God.
