HOUSTON – A 19-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal trespass after allegedly breaking into a Montgomery County church so that he could pray.
According to authorities, a woman inside the church heard someone trying to pry open the locked front doors. She then confronted the suspect, Juan Ramon Maldonado, who told her he “came to pray.” The woman called authorities after leaving the church with her three children.
When police arrived, Maldonado was sitting at a piano. He admitted to forcibly opening the church doors to gain entrance. He told police the same story: he “came to pray.”
He was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Jail.
