HAMILTON HEIGHTS – According to police, surveillance footage shows a man offering to help a disabled woman with a walker enter an apartment building, and then moments later assaulting and robbing her. According to the NYPD, the incident occurred July 15 at 2:30 a.m when a 48-year-old woman was trying to enter the lobby of her Hamilton Place building.
The suspect, seen in the video wearing a light-colored cap, a white T-shirt and dark pants, opens the door for the woman, but as she she starts walking, he lets the door close, moves behind her and then chokes her. Police say he wrestled her to the ground and pulled two chains from her neck before fleeing.
