David French at NRO points out this chart produced by the House Ways and Means Committee Majority Staff and published by NPR. This should finally put to rest claims that progressives were targeted too:
As you can see, not only were more Tea Party groups targeted those that were targeted were given more scrutiny in terms of the number of questions asked of them.
NPR writes “The analysis is the closest so far to an objective numerical accounting of how the groups were treated by the IRS.” But with Democrats heavily invested in this being a “phony scandal” no facts seem likely to change their minds.
