Police: Drunk Mom Forgets Where She Left Baby

ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) – A 26-year-old mom is in police custody after allegedly losing her one-year-old son while high on drugs and alcohol. According to police, Heather Zimmer (pictured above) took her son out for a walk in his stroller Wednesday night and then promptly passed out in front of a building.  A witness claims to have seen her drinking alcohol and potentially high on heroin. 

Zimmer woke up Thursday morning and had no idea as the whereabouts of her baby. 

While searching for the child, police discovered that Zimmer had left her baby with a woman named Tracy Guest whom she had not seen in 10 years.  Guest told officers that Zimmer showed up Wednesday evening out of the clear blue and asked her to watch the baby, saying that she would be right back. She did not return.
