I’m not an attorney but this strikes me as something a prosecutor probably should not do after a verdict. George Zimmerman was acquitted of 2nd degree murder (and manslaughter) on Saturday. Yet when asked to describe Zimmerman in one word on CNN’s HLN, Corey chose the word “murderer.”
Both sides in the case conceded that Zimmerman fired the shot that killed Martin. But should the person who brought charges against Zimmerman really call him a murderer on television after the jury found him not guilty of that crime? How else can this be interpreted except as a claim that the jury got it wrong?
