PHOENIX (CBS5) – A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother at her Phoenix restaurant. The suspect, Michael Lee Hansen, told police he was “trying to cut his mother’s head off,” using a 7-inch knife he procured from the Sakura Sushi and Steakhouse restaurant.
The victim reportedly told police that she was sitting in a booth when her son allegedly punched her, knocking her out cold. When she came to, she went into the restaurant’s kitchen where Hansen allegedly grabbed the knife and began stabbing her in the hands and neck.
According to the police report, an employee witnessed the suspect kick his mother while she was on the ground, asking “where the photo was.” One of the employees got the knife away from Hansen and subsequently was able to help her from the scene.
Police said that Hansen admitted that he had punched his mother and tried to cut her head off but “had failed to get his kill.” He also told police that the attack was related to naked photographs of him, but no further information was given.
