MEXICO CITY – Authorities in western Mexico say that two teenagers were murdered after making fun of a classmate who happened to be the son of a drug kingpin. Police found the boys’ bodies buried in a wooded area outside of Guadalajara, according to Jalisco state prosecutor Luis Najera.
Both boys were 15-years-old and were last seen over a week ago at a shopping mall in a Guadalajara suburb.
A teenager led police to the bodies and told investigators that the victims were killed for making fun of the son of imprisoned drug kingpin Jose Carrasco Coronel, whom the army has identified as the leader of the Sinaloa cartel in the states of Jalisco and Colima.
Nejera said that police were still looking for other suspects – the teenage son of Carrasco Coronel among them.
