Kagan Goes Hunting With Scalia…Shoots Deer

Speaking at the Aspen Festival of Ideas in Colorado last weekend, Justice Elena Kagan revealed that she and Justice Antonin Scalia are regular hunting buddies who recently broadened the scope of their game from quail to deer. 

According to Kagan, after several outings hunting quail, Scalia told her: “It’s time for big game hunting,” which led to a recent Wyoming adventure in search of a deer and antelope.

Kagan proudly announced “I shot myself a deer,” drawing a mixed response including some hissing from an audience that knows her to be a staunch liberal.  

Despite stark differences in ideology, Kagan and Scalia apparently enjoy each other’s company and go shooting several times a year.
