China Customs Officials Seize 213 Bear Paws

Two Russian suspects have been detained for allegedly smuggling 213 bear paws in the tires of a passenger van trying to enter China. According to Chinadaily.com, China’s Customs officials seized the contraband in Manzhouli of North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

There is a greater financial incentive for smugglers to sell bear paws in China, as the Chinese people believe the paws have significant nutritional value. 

According to the story, this is the biggest bear paw smuggling case in China’s history.
