ABC affiliate 10 News has revealed that employees at San Onofre nuclear power plant in Orange County, California created a Star Trek spoof inside the plant’s control room simulator.
Revelation of the spoof, which was filmed in 2010 for just $800, probably did not win any points with federal regulators who had been asked to allow a partial restart of the reactor’s generators. Today Socal Edison, which runs the plant, announced they would be shutting it down permanently after almost 40 years in service.
