Rodeo Clown Gets Prison Time For Growing Marijuana

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – A professional rodeo clown has been sentenced to 20 years in a federal prison for growing marijuana plants in rural Iowa.  Ray Meeks, 55, who worked as a rodeo clown and bullfighter in local and national rodeos was convicted in March of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana. Prosecutors say he was involved in the cultivating of over 1000 marijuana plants in Jones County between 2004 and 2011.
