According to video on her website and on her Facebook page, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann will not run for a fifth term in Congress. A video was posted on her website Wednesday morning announcing her decision.
Bachmann began serving in Congress in 2008, stating that 8 years was enough. She is founder of the House Tea Party and sits on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Committee on Financial Services.
“After a great deal of thought and deliberation, I have decided next year I will not seek a fifth congressional term to represent the wonderful people of the Sixth District of Minnesota. After serious consideration, I am confident that this is the right decision” the video states.
Bachmann also stated her decision was unrelated to recent questions about compliance on her presidential campaign or campaign staff, asserting she was entirely compliant on the video.
