Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, to no one’s surprise, supports President Obama’s belief that the prison on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, “incites our enemies,” and should be shut down. Wasserman Schultz also believes that if the prison remains open, that intelligence officers and military personnel around the world would be in jeopardy because Guantanamo(GITMO) is considered in the radical Islamist world as “rallying cry.”
He is not suggesting that any one of these 166 prisoners should be released, that plan that he has is to make sure, if they are sent to another country, that they either be imprisoned or “rehabbed,” if they are rehabilitatable, and that we make sure that those that should be tried need to be tried by military commission, but that can be done in the United States.-Rep.
