Dianne Feinstein Sticks to Her Benghazi Talking Points

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee, had to admit on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday that Sen. John McCain had been partially correct in his outrage over the Benghazi cover-up when he jousted with host David Gregory in February. (Gregory now admits that the White House indeed lied.)

Yet Feinstein could not quite let go of the administration’s false narrative. She stuck to the explanation that the infamous talking points had been edited–but insisted that had happened as new information became available about the attacks.

In fact, as was clear from the beginning but which is now known in detail (thanks to the Weekly Standard‘s Chris Hayes and ABC News’ Jonathan Karl), the talking points were edited to remove information about terrorism as more information became available. And as the House Oversight Committee hearings revealed, the administration had to know from the beginning that it was a terror attack.
