If you follow me on Twitter (@LisaDeP) you know that I’m obsessed with USA’s “Burn Notice.” More specifically, obsessed with Bruce Campbell (on right), who plays “Sam Axe” on the show. (There’s also a prequel TV movie called “The Fall of Sam Axe,” which was pretty good.)
Just as I was starting to get psyched about the show’s return on June 6, news came that it would be the last season. From USA Today:
USA’s long-running Burn Notice has been given notice. The seventh season, which premieres June 6 at 9 ET/PT, will be its last.
For the past six seasons, Jeffrey Donovan has played Michael Westen, a former CIA officer forced to establish a new life and career after being unceremoniously terminated by the agency. Suddenly persona non grata and broke, he turned to an ex-SEAL friend, Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) and his ex, Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) for help. Eventually, he found a new career as a private investigator/fixer to ordinary people, and made enough money to bankroll his investigation into who cost him his CIA career.
Guest stars for the new season include two Heroes alumni, Jack Coleman and Adrian Pasdar, as well as The Closer‘s Stephen Martines.
I am devastated. It’s such a great show. I will have to console myself by watching reruns of the previous six seasons and watching this video:
