Tamerlan Mom Texts in 2011: Son Is Willing to Die for Islam

Updated: The text messages were sent from Tamerlan’s mother to other family members about Tamerlan. 

Tamerlan Tsarnaev had sent text messages to his mother stating that he was willing to die for Islam as early as 2011, according to two sources with knowledge of the the FBI’s breifing on Capitol Hill. 

Charges were officially filed against younger brother Dzhokhar on Sunday by federal District Court Judge Marianne Bowler.  

“Two officials with knowledge of the FBI briefing on Capitol Hill said the FBI was against stopping the investigators’ questioning and was stunned that the judge, Justice Department prosecutors and public defenders showed up, feeling valuable intelligence may have been sacrificed as a result.”
