The Senate will vote on Thursday on gun legislation according to Harry Reid.
“We need to move to this legislation … and let the cards fall where they may,” he told reporters following a closed-door Democratic meeting Tuesday.
Manchin (D-W.Va) has until 5pm today to get a bipartisan compromise on the background check issue. Currently, there are several proposals on the table, with differing background check options.
At least 14 Senators have threatened to filibuster the legislation and it is unclear if the Democrats have 60 votes to end the filibuster.
