In response to Academic babble and the strangulation of thought:
John – on Twitter, Aaron Lewis (@AA_Lew) points out the eerie parallels between the various arguing parties in the video and “The Three Christs of Ypsilanti” by Milton Rokeach (1964).
In the book Rokeach (a social psychologist at Michigan State University) chronicles his field experiment of selecting 3 patients from a Michigan state mental hospital, all suffering delusions of Christhood, and bringing them into a group therapy session. None were ever convinced to abandon their self-identity as Jesus, and explained the others away as being crazy or robots.
In 1964, college professors studied messiah complexes. 50 years on, they teach them.
