This is how the left manufactures an education crisis:
“Study after study shows that the sooner a child begins learning, the better he or she does down the road. But today, fewer than 3 in 10 four year-olds are enrolled in a high-quality preschool program,” Obama lamented in his State of the Union address.
Yes, all those kids sitting at home are getting no better mental stimulation than they would at preschool, because no parent gives their kids coloring books, makes them count on their fingers, or puts on shows like Dora the Explorer.
The racket here is obvious; the Great Society created an epidemic of single motherhood, and single mothers, given the choice of paying for daycare or sending their kids to preschool for “free,” will choose the latter. And the sooner kids are in a politicized environment, the sooner they can be taught correct political thought with minimal resistance, and the machine grows stronger.
As many have said on Twitter, Head Start, the existing federal preschool program, has been branded a failure. So is Obama suggesting a mere expansion of this existing program, or will he expend political capital trying to launch something new?
