You would think an organization like NBC/Universal, which has a fairly large news organization, would release news when news is available. According to Paul Bond at the Hollywood Reporter, though, 500 layoffs that had been in works for months, were never announced.
Gee, I wonder why:
The layoffs are part of a months-long concerted effort by parent Comcast to rein in costs by eliminating inefficiencies and duplications among staffs at various departments before year’s end, an insider confirmed.
But-but-but NBC News assured me the economy and job growth was improving!
