Washington Post reporter Abby Phillip on Sunday tweeted out the home address of the firebrand Donald Trump supporter Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr.
In a tweet, Phillip posted a copy of a letter from the Department of Homeland Security, offering him the job as the assistant secretary where he would liaise with law enforcement officials all across America.
“For those wondering if Sheriff Clarke ever actually received a job offer, I’ve obtained a copy of the letter from DHS Human Resources,” she wrote.

However, several others on Twitter questioned whether Phillip possibly violated one of Twitter’s policies, prohibiting people from publishing someone’s personal information, including “addresses or locations that are considered and treated as private.”
“Out of courtesy, you would black out his address but obviously the press would love to see their opposition harmed or killed,” wrote one man under the handle JoeyB, while another, Jim Crackton, asked whether the Post would show “journalistic integrity” and fire Phillip for “doxing someone in a climate of leftist violence.”
Clarke, who was an ardent Donald Trump supporter, has a history of upsetting left-wing groups, describing Black Lives Matter as a “terrorist movement,” and suggesting that Planned Parenthood should be renamed “Planned Genocide.”
Last year, a Wisconsin man was arrested on charges of harassing Clarke, after he repeatedly hurled abuse at him during a flight from Milwaukee to Charlotte.
However, Clarke has previously suggested he is not a man who is easily frightened. In 2014, he said: “I don’t dial 911. I will afterwards, to say ‘Come get this dead guy out of my house, he’s bleeding out and he’s messing up my carpet.’”
