Katy Perry amped up her support for Hillary Clinton on Saturday in more ways than one – shortly before performing at an outdoor rally to support the presidential candidate’s campaign in Iowa, the pop star took over Clinton’s Instagram account.
“Katy Perry here, taking over Hills’ IG today for the rally in Iowa,” the singer captioned her first post on Clinton’s official account. “The stage is set, and the nails are pressed. T-minus 1.5 hours before we Roar together.#ImWithHer -Katy.”
Clinton was in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday to attend the Democratic Party’s Jefferson-Jackson Dinner alongside fellow presidential candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley.
Before the dinner, Perry appeared onstage with Clinton at a rally in downtown Des Moines, where she performed a set including her hit song “Roar” and pledged her support for the candidate.
“I stand and I march with Hillary,” Perry said. “I believe in her future, her vision. I believe in her policies. I believe in equal rights for men, women, pay.”
“You know, sometimes it’s important; you just have to Roar,” Clinton told supporters from the stage.
