Graham, along with Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Ron Johnson (R-WI), Dean Heller (R-NV), and former Sen. Rick Santorum unveiled their new legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare through block grants. The legislation, known as Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson (GCHJ), would repeal Obamacare’s individual and employer mandate, Obamacare’s medical device tax, and deliver health care to the states so that Republican states can design more conservative and affordable health care systems compared to the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

The South Carolina senator explained that if their coalition gets 20 governors to support the bill, he will hold a press conference with the governors to urge Congress to support it as well. Graham argued that “a call from the president and the vice president would go a long way to get us to 20 governors.”

Graham told Breitbart News that he has met with Vice President Pence multiple times. Graham said that Pence has been very supportive of renewed efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Graham praised the Vice President; he said that Pence was “awesome.”

“I’m urging the White House to call governors and to urge Mitch McConnell to take action. I’m telling the Republican party that we have not tried everything,” Graham added.
