Despite the terrorist attack in Brussels, President Obama and his family attended the scheduled exhibition baseball game between the Cuban national team and the Tampa Bay Rays in Cuba this afternoon.

The crowd cheered when Obama and Cuban president Raul Castro arrived at the national stadium in Havana.

Obama wore sunglasses as he sat behind home plate with Castro, protected by a net, while chewing Nicorette gum as he applauded the players of both teams.

Obama and the First family joined Castro in doing the “wave” at one point before the game, together with the Cuban attendees.

The game was broadcast live on ESPN.

Both leaders joined the Cuban attendees in observing a moment of silence for victims of terror attacks in Brussels before the game began.
