CHARLESTON, S.C. — Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is set to endorse former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, according to Politico.
Graham, who dropped out of the Republican presidential race in December, is expected to announce his endorsement today at an event with Bush in South Carolina.
According to Politico:
His endorsement is a major get for Bush, who has struggled to gain traction in the contest. The former governor is looking to make a South Carolina, along with New Hampshire, a key state in his push for the Republican nomination.
Since he dropped out last month, Graham’s endorsement has been sought by a number of candidates. His home state colleague, Sen. Tim Scott, has remained uncommitted in the contest but is expected to announce an endorsement in the coming weeks. Two of Graham’s influential close friends in the Senate, John McCain and Kelly Ayotte, have also yet to endorse.
