Mexican Authorities Rescue Kidnapping Victim South of Texas Border

Mexican authorities in the border state of Tamaulipas had a busy weekend rescuing a kidnapping victim, seizing a tractor-trailer full of stolen fuel, and seizing more than a ton of marijuana throughout the state. Soldiers with the Mexican army were carrying out routine patrols in the port city of Madero in the southern part of Tamaulipas when they came across the kidnapping, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the Tamaulipas government revealed. Tamaulipas is the Mexican state that is immediately south of Texas against the Gulf of Mexico.

Authorities spotted two men standing on a sidewalk in one of the streets in the neighborhood called Independence. The two men ran into a house sparking the soldier’s suspicions. The soldiers followed the men and found a kidnapping victim inside the house. Authorities rendered aid to the victim and arrested the two suspected kidnappers.

Also over the weekend authorities seized a tractor trailer full of stolen fuel. The seizure took place when a convoy of soldiers was patrolling an area near the rural community of El Perote near Matamoros. The soldiers spotted the trailer coming out of a dirt road. When the two men who had been in the truck spotted the soldiers they jumped out and ran into the brush. Authorities checked the truck and found close to 8,000 gallons of stolen gasoline.

In the third event over the weekend Mexican soldiers were patrolling the brush area near the town of Los Guerra not far from the city of Miguel Aleman. That area is just south of Roma, Texas and it is considered a smuggling corridor by drug cartel smugglers who used the area as a staging area to get their drugs into America. Since the region lacks a border fence, once the illicit cargo is over the Rio Grande, the smugglers then follow the nearby highways to get their drugs north.

As the Mexican soldiers went about their patrol of the area, in the brush they spotted several drug bundles. A wider search of the region turned up 196 bundles which ended up weighing approximately 4,900 pounds of marijuana.
