An illegal alien from Mexico, Juan Jimenez-Olivera, pled guilty on Wednesday to strangling 30-year-old Sviatlana Dranko in her home, stealing $6,000 from her, setting her body on fire, and lying to police about his crimes in April 2014.
The two worked together in a pizza parlor; little did Dranko’s employer know, he or she would have blood on his or her hands for hiring an illegal alien in defiance of federal law. On April 29, New Jersey police and firefighters responding to a call found Dranko severely burned with a pillowcase pulled over her head. Investigators determined she had died before Jimenez-Olivera set her on fire.
Jimenez-Olivera allegedly raped his victim as well, but charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault were dropped when he entered a plea deal, as was a recommended 30-year sentence with no possibility of parole for the murder. He pled guilty to: “murder, aggravated arson, desecrating human remains, theft and related offenses,” according to the Daily Mail. His $1 million bond was revoked, and he will be sentenced on September 18. The judge said he “could” be deported — but if Mexico refuses to take him back, he’ll remain in the U.S. for the rest of his life and will be free to roam unsuspecting American neighborhoods after serving his sentence.
The news comes as Americans are realizing the country is suffering from a decades-long immigrant crime wave, and illegal aliens are allowed to go wherever they please and are only detained after committing serious, violent crimes. The Dranko case bears a grim resemblance to the torture-murder of Joshua Wilkerson in November 2010, when an illegal alien “DREAMer” destroyed his face with a closet rod and slowly strangled him to death, before tying him up and setting him on fire. Crimes committed by illegal immigrants especially are often shocking in their gratuitous cruelty and depravity.
The news comes as the GOP primary gets off to a heated start, with many candidates talking about mass immigration and the damage it does to the country.
