On June 20 Hillary Clinton said she has not quit fighting for gun control and “will not be afraid to keep fighting for” gun control in the future.
Clinton was speaking to the US Conference of Mayors in San Francisco.
According to Huffington Post, Clinton said more “common sense gun reforms” are needed in the wake of the June 17 attack on Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She suggested these reforms will “keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and the violently unstable while respecting responsible gun owners.” She did not explain what these “reforms” would be, but she did say she will never quit pushing for them.
Clinton’s exact words:
The stakes are too high, the costs are too dear, and I am not and will not be afraid to keep fighting for common sense reforms, and along with you, achieve those on behalf of all who have been lost because of this senseless gun violence in this country.
She then changed subjects to express her disappointment that Americans still refuse to let go of their racism even after electing “our first black president.”
