Newtown father Mark Barden, whose son Daniel was killed on December 14, 2012, says he “will dedicate the rest of his life” to pursuing gun control.
He is joined by Nicole Hockley, whose son Dylan died in the heinous attack, and Erica Lafferty, whose mother Dawn Hochsprung was killed, as well.
According to MSNBC, these and others are working through the Newtown gun control group, “Sandy Hook Promise.” They support the kind of gun control Michael Bloomberg and other one-percenters spent $10 million to secure in Washington state, as well as the kind of gun control Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) pushed, but failed to secure, in April 2013.
Lafferty says it took “years to pass the Brady Bill”–which was passed in 1993–suggesting she and others in Sandy Hook Promise are ready to dedicate years pushing to get the gun control they want. She “urges the public to join her by calling a lawmaker, signing a petition, or donating to [a gun control] organization.”
