Attorney General William Barr has made it clear by his words and actions that civil liberties are “not suspended in times of crisis.” And for the sake of religious people everywhere, I pray that it continues.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton recently stated that “a crisis tends to strip away façades and reveal who we are and what we believe. At best, we become stronger as communities and a nation; at worst, we slip into fear and oppression.”
So, for all the evangelical Christians who once vowed “never Trump,” it’s time to come together and bury differences to defend freedom.
When civil authorities go beyond safety guidelines and overreach, Christians should be ready for a fight by whatever legal means necessary.
America will survive the coronavirus, but we cannot expect freedom to prosper or persevere if we destroy the conditions upon which it has thrived for over 200 years.
Joe Biden’s positions are just as damaging and harmful to the Constitution and American freedom as Bernie Sanders’s would be.
