The State Department informed Breitbart News that the estimated completion date was now February 2017 in a September 7, 2016 email, responding to an inquiry made several days earlier. Breitbart News subsequently asked the State Department to accelerate the estimated completion date to before the presidential election on November 8, but has not received a response to several such requests.

Number of Syrian Refugees Resettled in Nevada May Soar in FY 2017

Should this pace of Syrian refugee resettlement continue for the remaining 340 days of the fiscal year, 335 Syrian refugees will be resettled in the state, a more than 400 percent increase from the 60 Syrian refugees resettled there in FY 2016.

Judicial Watch: Vermont Mayor, Resettlement Agency ‘Concealed From the Public Their Plans to Resettle 100 Syrian Refugees’

On Friday, Judicial Watch “released 128 pages of documents it obtained from the mayor of Rutland, Vermont, showing a concerted effort by the mayor and a number of private organizations to conceal from the public their plans to resettle 100 Syrian refugees into the small southern Vermont town.” The Judicial Watch release of these documents confirms a pattern of secrecy and concealment found in dozens of small communities around the country.

Obama on Track to Nearly Double Refugees Coming to U.S. in FY 2017 to 150,000

Four hundred and eleven refugees have been resettled in the United States each of the first five days of the fiscal year that began on October 1. At this rate, the country is on track to resettle more than 150,000 refugees in the fiscal year, a rate almost double the 84,995 resettled in FY 2016, and more than 40,000 greater than the 110,000 the Obama administration has proposed for FY 2017.

Of the 12,587 Syrian refugees who were resettled in the United States in FY 2016, more than 99 percent, 12,487, were Muslim.
