Exactly two years from the day he made the Oklahoma State (OSU) basketball team, Dee Mitchell received a surprise visit from head coach Mike Boynton, who interrupted his shift at Walmart to inform Mitchell that he will receive a scholarship for the rest of his time on the team. Mitchell, a junior, made the team as a walk-on in January 2019.

Georgia Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue issed a joint statement Monday, stating that they are opposed to the Atlanta Braves changing their name. The statement comes on the same day Cleveland Indians owner Paul Dolan told the Associated Press (AP) his team’s name “is no longer acceptable in our world.”

Ohio Coronavirus Rules Allow Wrestling, But Not Shaking Hands

The Ohio High School Athletic Association released an update to their Coronavirus regulations December 1, with predictable rules such as the wearing of masks while in community areas and during team travel, and temperature testing before competition. However, it also included some seemingly contradictory rules such as the elimination of athlete handshakes pre- and post-match. Officials are also no longer allowed to indicate the winner of the match by raising the wrestler’s hand.

VIDEO: Youth Coach Banned for Life, Charged with Child Abuse After Hitting Player

A youth football coach from Georgia was charged with child abuse on Friday after a video went viral showing him allegedly hitting one of his players during a playoff game in Florida. The American Youth Football (AYF) league called the coach’s actions a “complete breach” of its code of conduct and slapped him with a lifetime ban from its activities.
