In the wake of a recent court ruling against detention for illegal immigrant families, a group of House Democrats are calling on the Obama administration to end family detention.

Because of his actions, and the actions of others at the agency he leads the American people may never know the truth about the IRS’ targeting for conservative-tax-exempt applications,” the lawmakers wrote Monday in the nearly 30-page letter highlighting the Committee’s findings against Koskinen and the IRS to comply with their probe.
Committees in both the House and Senate have launched investigations into the matter and last week the Attorney General Loretta Lynch said the Justice Department would “review all the information and determine what steps, if any, to take at the appropriate time.” According to the House Freedom Caucus, the time to cut funding to Planned Parenthood is now.

I would have expected him to do that here,” Ratcliffe responded.
“Our family realizes the complexities of immigration laws, however, we feel strongly that some legislation should be discussed, enacted and/or changed to take these undocumented immigrant felons off our streets for good,” Steinle testified before a House subcommittee Thursday.
The murder of Kathryn Steinle at a San Francisco pier allegedly by a multiple deportee illegal immigrant with a long rap sheet — who had been released due to the city’s sanctuary policies — has sparked a national outcry over sanctuary cities. Thursday’s hearing sought to examine those policies.
“I think the President needs to fire the director immediately. I think Congress needs to pass a law to stop them from changing the oath,” Jindal said in an interview with Breitbart News Wednesday. “Let’s be honest here, immigration without assimilation is invasion. We’ve always said the people coming here have to want to be Americans otherwise why are they coming here in the first place?” he asked.
In a proposed rule from the Department of Homeland Security, the administration seeks to expand on a 2013 rule— which allowed illegal immigrants with a U.S. citizen spouse or parent to apply for a waiver in the U.S. from the requirement that they return to their home countries for three to 10 years to apply for legal status, if they could prove “extreme hardship.”
“While we appreciate the intent behind the Hunter sanctuary bill (H.R. 3009), NumbersUSA has no choice but to oppose it,” the limited immigration group said in a statement issued to House Members Tuesday, adding the bill does not confront the “largest sanctuary jurisdiction of all: the Federal government.
