Obama Lied About IRS Scandal 'Outrage'

In May 2013, President Barack Obama tried to control the damage of the IRS scandal by expressing his outrage–literally. In a statement in the East Room of the White House, he noted that “across the board, everybody believes what happened in–as reported in the [Inspector General’s] report is an outrage.”

Fast-forward to December, and now Obama mocks that outrage, as the Daily Caller notes, telling MSNBC’s Chris Matthews: “you’ve got an office in Cincinnati, in the IRS office that — I think, for bureaucratic reasons, is trying to streamline what is a difficult law to interpret about whether a nonprofit is actually a political organization deserves a tax exempt agency. And they’ve got a list, and suddenly everybody’s outraged.”

So it turns out that Obama’s outrage–which was the media’s cue to stop caring about the scandal–was a total fraud. That adds insult to the injury of the IRS scandal–but it is, unfortunately, nothing new from Obama.
