Bid Status: 3-seed in the East

While Marquette has the edge in perhaps the tightest foursome in the tournament as they try to make their third straight Sweet 16, but there is almost no margin for error. Marquette is a better team than their first opponent Davidson (20 of 50), as well as whoever wins the Butler/Bucknell game (18/21), but Marquette’s strength is that they go 10-deep. You almost never have teams go that deep in the tournament, and they just do not have one NBA-level player who can blow an opponent away. Big man Davante Gardner can dominate a half court game, and Vander Blue can dominated a full court game,  but those two and Jamil Wilson are only the 40th best trio in the country.
