Ottawa Attacker Supported Taliban, ‘Joked About Being A Suicide Bomber’

Michael Zehaf-Bibeau carried out a terror attack in Ottawa on October 22. Now, a former coworker is talking, describing Zehaf-Bibeau’s support for the Taliban and the manner in which he “joked about being a suicide bomber.”

CBC News reports that Zehaf-Bibeau’s “former supervisor and coworker” said he would come to work and talk about how the Taliban’s actions against coalition forces were “justified.” These included roadside bombs and other IED placements, which harmed, maimed, or took innocent lives.

The unidentified coworker said Zehaf-Bibeau even showed other workers films of “Taliban ambushes or IED attacks” from time to time. Eventually, he began to dress in “the long robe and keffiyeh of an Arab sheik.” 

The same coworker said that between 2007 and 2009, Zehaf-Bibeau “joked about being a suicide bomber.” He would wrap his hands around the front of his coat–holding it closed–and then run towards other workers, open the coat, and say, “BOOM!”

Zehaf-Bibeau later had someone photograph him in the long robe and keffiyeh–this time holding a rifle and talking about the great plans that awaited him. 

On October 22, he took that very rifle–a lever action 30-30–into Ottawa and attacked the War Memorial, killing Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, then ran into the Parliament building in an attempt to reach the MPs. Breitbart News reported that Zehaf-Bibeau was quickly dispatched by a good guy with gun: Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers.
