The Islamic State released another recruitment video, this time aimed at Indonesian Muslim men. Abu Muhammad al-Indonesi issued an emotional plea, describing the men in the video as “brothers from Indonesia who have come to the Islamic State.”
“We ask you, where’s your faith?” he says. “Why are you worried? What’s the reason for your fear? Are your wives and children the reason that you’re prevented from jihad?”
Al-Indonesi becomes very emotional and decides to guilt-trip the men into joining ISIS.
“Are your homes, businesses, and wealth more beloved to you than Allah, His Messenger, and jihad in his path?” he cries out. “Have you forgotten that the companions of Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) emigrated for jihad to Sham? Before that, they were ordered to emigrate from Makkah to Madinah? They obeyed without hesitation and did not look for excuses! They went to Madinah seeking Allah’s pleasure.”
To tempt them a little more, al-Indonesi praises ISIS’s alleged good deeds in Syria and Iraq.
“The Islamic State built schools to fulfill its responsibility of teaching the people the book of Allah and the Sunnah,” he states. “Sharia seminars are held and social issues are addressed. Alhamdulillah, the Islamic State provides help to those who need it, by the permission and support of Allah.”
“And insha’allah, it will liberate all the lands of the oppressed Muslims from the tawaghit who do not implement the Sharia of Islam.”
ISIS has released numerous recruitment videos aimed at Muslim men, especially in the West. One video featured blonde Bosnian Muslim children who chant “Allahu Akbar” and wave the ISIS flag. Another video was aimed at Canada, using stereotypes to rein the men into its terrorism web. The video starred Andre Poulin, a jihadist who led a very comfortable life in Canada–enjoying hockey, fishing, and hunting–but later converted and left Canada for Syria because he could not practice his faith around non-Muslims. He died while fighting in Syria. YouTube removed the video, however, which showed Poulin’s death.
Recently, ISIS told Christians in Mosul to convert to Islam, pay the protection tax, or die. The majority chose to leave, which ended a Muslim-Christian community for over 2,000 years. ISIS then marked Christian homes with the letter N for Nazarene and told shopkeepers to place veils over all mannequins.
