Jay Leno's Entire 'Tonight Show' Staff Also Getting Boot from NBC

Millions of Americans will say goodbye to Jay Leno this evening as he signs off from The Tonight Show for the last time.

What audiences might not realize is that Leno isn’t leaving alone, and those joining him don’t have the luxury of million dollar contracts to fall back on.

NBCUniversal is planning to lay off its entire “Tonight Show” staff — all 164 Burbank employees — when the late-night talk show moves from California to New York City next month, TheWrap reported … layoffs begin on February 14 and will continue through to April 4.

The good news? The fired staffers can still apply for job openings at NBC.

We have encouraged those 164 employees to take a look at jobs throughout the company and apply for them,” the spokesperson told TheWrap. Those available positions include jobs at “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in New York City.
