Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America held a rally on Wednesday demanding Kroger shareholders support gun bans in Kroger stores.
The shareholders met in Erlanger, Kentucky, and after the meeting Kroger officials departed without giving Moms Demand the face time they clearly wanted.
According to WKRC Cincinnati, the Moms Demand demonstrators consisted of “[group] members from all over the country.” The group said it was “concerned about safety” and it wanted to tell Kroger officials that the grocer “has an obligation to keep [customers] safe.”
Kroger’s gun policy is to follow state and local laws and ordinances, and that means allowing customers to carry guns openly for self-defense where carrying guns in such a fashion is legal. Breitbart News reported that Moms Demand launched a national campaign demanding Kroger change its gun policy on August 18 and stepped up that push on September 4, after Kroger made it clear they have no intention of changing their policy.
Since Moms Demand began pressuring Kroger to disarm law-abiding citizens, an armed customer was able to defend his life while under attack by an assailant in an Indianapolis Kroger parking lot.
