Labor unions have made it clear that they are not fans of Obama campaign bundler Penny Pritzker or her family’s Hyatt Hotel chain. Thursday morning, they flexed some muscle in opposition to Pritzker’s nomination to become Commerce Secretary at her confirmation hearing.
Just before the hearing, a C-SPAN wide shot of the room where the hearing is currently underway revealed the presence of UNITE Local union members in their red solidarity t-shirts.
Union activists are also taking to Twitter in an attempt to thwart Pritzker’s nomination.
An online petition is also being promoted which claims, “Hyatt is the worst hotel employer in America… This is Hyatt’s business model. But this is not the model that is right for America.”
