Chicago Police Superintendent: Gun Owners 'Corrupt'

Chicago Police Superintendent: Gun Owners 'Corrupt'

Just days after saying the gun laws in Chicago aren’t strict, Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy alleged that gun rights groups are corrupt on a Feb. 17 morning radio program in Chicago.

He said that the such groups show their “corruption” by lobbying against more gun control, which he claims makes the job of police departments harder.

McCarthy made it clear that this corruption extends beyond the gun rights groups themselves, to every gun owner who sends money to these groups.

According to the Illinois Rifle Association, McCarthy also shared his conviction that the 2nd Amendment “supports mandatory liability insurance for firearm owners” and “the mandatory application of GPS tracking devices” to all guns purchased by law-abiding citizens.

McCarthy also believes the 2nd Amendment “limits citizens to owning smooth-bore muskets.”
