A homeowner with a shotgun left an alleged Atlanta home invasion suspect in critical condition on Monday night.

The suspect has been identified as Spencer Bohannon. He allegedly entered a Southeast Atlanta home through “a rear window,” only to face two shotgun blasts from the homeowner.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bohannon allegedly entered the home around 11:30 pm. The homeowner told police that “he grabbed his gun when he heard the sound of someone breaking in.” He fired once as Bohannon allegedly moved through the house, forcing the suspect to run back toward the window he had entered, and he fired again at some point during the confrontation.

At least one of the two shotgun blasts struck Bohannon. First responders transported Bohannon to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

9 WTVM reports Bohannon is charged with burglary, but no charges against the homeowner are expected.
