The suspect in a hit-and-run accident can be seen pleading for his life in a video which shows him being held at gunpoint by an armed citizen on an interstate overpass.
The hit-and-run occurred on September 9 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
According to KRQE, the suspect was alleged to have struck a bicyclist with a SUV, thereafter fleeing the scene. The person on the bike “was then dragged by the vehicle as it left the crash scene.” An armed citizen somehow “got the suspect out the SUV and held him at gunpoint while calling police.”
It is unclear how far the bicyclist was dragged before getting free, but the suspect drove “nearly a mile” with the bicycle pinned under the SUV after leaving the crash scene.
Video of the event shows the suspect apologizing and pleading for his life:
The armed citizen held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived. Upon arriving, police put the suspect in the back of patrol car while the bicyclist was taken away in an ambulance. Albuquerque Police say the bicyclist is expected to survive.
